Christmas Island is a small community located within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The community has a post office and a firehall, and is home to a very small population.
Bras d’Or Lake and the Waterfront
The community features a beach with access to the Bras d’Or Lake, one of the notable bodies of water on Cape Breton Island. The shoreline provides residents and visitors with a connection to this large inland lake.
Christmas Island and Christmas Island Pond
Just off the shore of the community sits a small island also named Christmas Island. This small island works together with the mainland to enclose Christmas Island Pond, a pond that runs into the Bras d’Or Lake.
