Ecum Secum is a rural community situated on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. It straddles the boundary between the Halifax Regional Municipality and Guysborough County, making it one of the few communities in the province to span two separate municipal jurisdictions. The community sits along the shores of Ecum Secum Harbour, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean.
Location and Surroundings
Ecum Secum lies approximately 46 km (29 mi) east of Sheet Harbour, 37 km (23 mi) southwest of Sherbrooke, and roughly 160 km (99 mi) east of Downtown Halifax. It is accessible via the Marine Drive along Trunk 7, a route that follows much of Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore coastline. The community’s position along this corridor places it within a stretch of rural Nova Scotia characterised by coastal inlets and small settlements.
