Hantsport Map

Hantsport is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located within West Hants Regional Municipality. It sits at the western boundary between West Hants Regional Municipality and Kings County, along the west bank of the Avon River‘s tidal estuary.

Industry and Heritage

The community is best known for its former industries, which played a significant role in the region’s economic history. These included shipbuilding, a pulp mill, and a marine terminal that once loaded gypsum mined near Windsor. Together, these industries reflect the industrial character that shaped Hantsport over many years.

A Notable Resting Place

Hantsport is also recognized as the resting place of William Hall, a recipient of the Victoria Cross. Hall’s connection to the community gives it a place of distinction in Canadian military history.
