L’Ardoise Map

L’Ardoise is a small community located in Richmond County on Cape Breton Island, in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Situated within one of Cape Breton’s many rural counties, L’Ardoise is representative of the small, close-knit communities that characterise much of the island’s coastline and interior.

Location and County

L’Ardoise falls within Richmond County, one of the counties that makes up the southern portion of Cape Breton Island. Richmond County is home to a number of small communities, and L’Ardoise is among those that contribute to the county’s distinct local character. The community’s name reflects the French-language heritage that remains present across many parts of Cape Breton and Nova Scotia more broadly.
