Trenton is a town located in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Situated on the east bank of the East River of Pictou, the community was founded in 1786 and has since grown into a small but established urban centre in the county. Trenton was incorporated as a town on 11 March 1911.
The Name Trenton
The town received its name in 1882 at the suggestion of a prominent local citizen, Harvey Graham, following a visit he made to Trenton, New Jersey. Prior to adopting this name, the community had existed for nearly a century without it, making the renaming a notable moment in the town’s development.
